The Porto Ferreira Waterloo Vintage 1815, fondly referred to as the Waterloo Port by English wine connoisseurs, is a testament to the luxury of time. This vintage port, matured over two centuries in the tranquillity of cellars, owes its exceptional quality to the knowledge passed down through generations. The inspiration for its design stems from its rich history and the legendary status the Waterloo Port holds among wine enthusiasts.

Omdesign, the creative force behind the packaging, has crafted a unique and highly luxurious container for this rare port wine. The packaging, a single unit produced, is handcrafted with silver, exotic wood, and natural leather. It also includes a deluxe crystal and silver decanter, designed exclusively for Porto Ferreira, featuring illustrations of the Douro Valley Demarcated Region and the silverware offered by the Portuguese to the 1st Duke of Wellington.

The packaging is not just a container, but a treasure chest that encapsulates the wisdom of waiting and respecting the rhythms of nature. It comes with a key, symbolizing the exclusivity and magic of this historic Port wine. Opening it is a privilege reserved for one person, adding to the allure of this extraordinary creation.

The design journey began in June 2014 in Porto, Portugal, and concluded in May 2015 in London with an auction by Sotheby's. The project presented creative challenges, but it was also an opportunity to pay tribute to the Battle of Waterloo and honor the founder of Porto Ferreira, Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira. The special edition packaging was auctioned off, with all proceeds going to APELA (Portuguese Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association), reflecting the charitable spirit of Sogrape Vinhos, the company that owns the Porto Ferreira brand.
